We Remember Mike Moehrl

Mike Moehrl
Everyone lucky enough to know Mike Moehrl knew that he was a happy, inspirational man. Paralyzed from the neck down after a horseback riding accident in 1983, doctors told him he would live five years at most after the accident. The fact that Mike surpassed that estimate by 28 years doesn’t surprise the people who knew him. Perseverance was a quality Mike embodied and encouraged in others.
It was Mike’s determination and great attitude that drew people to him. By the time Mike came to RACOM, he had already served in the United States Army, worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation, served as Marshall County engineer, and started his own business, Moe’s Appaloosas and Trailer Sales. At RACOM, Mike served as a part-owner and vice president. Dedicated and diligent, Mike submitted an average of two sales per week up until the time of his death.
Lesser men may have let circumstances stop them in their tracks, but Mike Moehrl was not a lesser man. He spent his life helping others overcome the challenges they faced, leading by example. He was an encourager, a teacher, and an inspiration to everyone he met. He loved horses and often connected with people through that passion. He was also a devout Catholic with a talent for inspiring people.
Mike will be missed at RACOM. His smile, his encouragement, his example: All hallmarks of a truly great man who we were honored to know.
